A Hands-On Discovery Tour

Explore Valley of the Moon in a new way with the Yuki Toolkit, a participatory interpretation experience created by Yuki (Yuchun Zhang) for Valley of the Moon.
During this one-hour guided tour, visitors will use transparent overlays, archival photographs, maps, observation s, and the rotating volvelle device to explore how the site has changed over time. Along the way, you’ll compare evidence, ask questions, test possibilities, and record your own observations on a participatory map. Drawing materials will be provided.
The tour includes light outdoor activity, including walking and standing on Valley of the Moon’s historic grounds. If you have accessibility needs or would benefit from accommodations, please let us know in advance.

Space is limited to 10 participants per tour.
The Yuki Toolkit was first introduced during International House Museum Days 2026 and will be presented at the 2026 Arizona History Convention in September. The October and November tours bring the project back on site and invite visitors to contribute their own perspectives.
